Community · one of our three principles

Every training funds someone else’s

We believe a sacred business should give something back to the place it's located. So every cohort carries a funded place, and every event leaves something behind.

Why it exists

Healing should not only be for people passing through

Senses is located on a fruit farm in southern Sri Lanka. The practices we teach travel here from all over the world, and it would be a strange kind of wellbeing if the people who live around the shala were the only ones who could not afford it.

So it is built into the price of every training rather than left to good intentions. One funded place per cohort, donation-based rate for classes and reduced rate for trainings for locals.

“As a Sri Lankan, stepping into this space felt like coming home in the most unexpected way. The fact that they offer discounts and donation-based options for locals means this kind of healing is genuinely accessible to us too, not just for visitors passing through.”

How it works

Three commitments, on every training

One place per cohort

Every teacher training we run carries a funded place for someone from the community around the school. Your training helps begin someone else’s.

Local rates for local people

Sri Lankan practitioners pay a donation-based rate for classes and events, and a reduced rate for trainings, so the practice stays reachable for the people who live here.

A donation wherever we go

On the road and at the festival we leave something behind, sometimes a free place, sometimes a donation to a local charity.

How to apply

Tell us about yourself

This scholarship is open to Sri Lankan nationals only.

We love to get to know you! We made a scholarship application form for you to tell us who you are and why you would like to train at Senses. If you know someone who should have the scholarship, nominate them by sending us a WhatsApp message.
